stayed at the Pirates Cove Inn located in what the locals call the “Manatee Pocket” area. It is located in a harbor surrounded by yachts, waterfront restaurants and tiki bars. This was a great location because it was beautiful, relaxing and we could walk to several nice restaurants and bars and not have to mess around with driving and parking. There was even a breakfast /lunch place (Whistle Stop) within walking distance and it was so good we ate there every day.
If you enjoy fishing, this is the place to be! Every morning we watched the fishing boats go out and every evening we would see what they brought in. You can easily charter a boat from the bait shop located next to the tiki bar.
I always like to eat the local food when I travel. If in Mexico, I eat Mexican food, here in Stuart Fl, I ate seafood. We ate at the Pirates Loft twice. I have to say it was the freshest and the best seafood I have ever had. The crab and scallop dishes were amazing. I have never had such a tender buttery scallop in California (where I live). And the crab cakes were made of all crab, not bread balls with a touch of crab, like we get in California.
I highly recommend staying at the Pirates Cove Inn if you are looking for a low key, fun and relaxing getaway.
