Corsets

Tesa Aimee Corset in Royal Blue

Tesa Aimee Corset in Royal Blue

I am so glad corsets are back in.  I don’t really think they were ever out, but there are so many beautiful corsets out this season.
CBS recently reported on the popularity of corsets this season in an article. Suck it Up!
Corsets are flattering on any body type.  They give your body a more hour glass look.  Many of todays corsets are made with light but firm boning for a comfortable supportive fit.
I love Escante’s Tesa Corset line.  All their corsets have a waist cinching lace up back, with a side zip, or front zip closure to make it easier to take on and off.   These corsets are well made with beautiful fabrics and sold at reasonable prices.
When buying a corset your waist measurement is the most important.  If the corset is too big in the waist it will not fit right.  You want a corset to be at least 2″ smaller than your waist.  So if you have a 28″ waist you want the corset to be 26″ around the waist, at the most.  I prefer 3 inches or more to allow for fabric stretching.  It is normal to have up to a 6 inch gap in the back lacing.
Allure Leather has just released several new fantastic sexy corsets!  The new Rubber Look Vinyl line is very nice.  Affordable, well made and very provocative.  I expect the new Rubber Look line to  be popular.

Widely known in Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan and Israel for 20 years.

Made of the highest quality materials and the best fabrics such as microfiber, embroidered tulle and lace produced by the top manufacturers from Italy, France, Austria, Spain and Switzerland.

Each bra is assembled by hand ensuring the best quality and comfort.

KONRAD is highly desired and loved for their beautiful high fashion and stylish push-ups and half-contour bras that cover the niche of sizes 40 or 42 in cups B or C.

Austrian and Italian embroideries, luxurious French lace combined with vibrant colors and stylish ribbon adornments together with matching elegant briefs, thongs or strings make these foundations very special. Push-ups have removable pads and straps.

These bras & panties are truly feminine and a pleasure to wear.   My new favorite!

Silk Eco-Panty!

Eco Panty

Eco Panty

These are Great! Mary Green has come up with a wonderful way to use silk remnants. The new eco-thong panty! No 2 are alike, each one is made from at least 4 different silk fabrics. This is a quote from Mary Greens Blog about how Eco Panties came to be:

centuries ago silk was so valuable that quantities of it, even in the form of draperies, were left to family and valued friends in a person’s will! i believe it was equated with gold.

i wonder if that is what the Chinese factories that i have visited over time had in mind in keeping so many remnants and end bolts of silk. someone there told me it was their “bank account.” except i noted over the years that mostly it just stayed there.

and here we were printing more and more of it. so i thought that it would be a wonderful thing to offer to buy much of these small pieces (and leftover, already dyed elastic) and make them into panties. some pieces are as small as one meter.

we, together, devised a method of handcutting each panty and have tried to assure that each one is different – and the wilder the better – by assuring that we have at least 4 prints or colors in each one. and so the birth of our new eco-panty came about. i feel that each panty is a one of a kind jewel and a testament to my passion for sustainable enterprise.

A Wonderful Chardonnay!

I just received my spring wine club shipment from Husch Vineyards. I am not a huge Chardonnay fan, but I do love buttery or creamy Chardonnays.  To me they are just as wonderful as a nice Cabernet, a sensual wine to be sipped and thoroughly enjoyed.  Finding a good “buttery” Chardonnay these days is not easy.  But, the new 2006 Special Reserve Chardonnay from Husch Vineyards is spectacular!  It is one of the best, if not THE best buttery Chardonnay I have ever tasted.

I think a seafood pasta dish, like a Fettuccine Alfredo made with Gruyere cheese, shrimp, crab, lobster or all of the above, would be “Heavenly” with this Chardonnay.  Or simply some Camembert cheese (a French brie type cheese), a sourdough baguette and a gourmet nut mix (macadamia, cashew and almond) would be wonderful too.[ad#ad-2]

Anderson Valley Wine Tasting

Husch Vineyards

Wine tasting in Anderson Valley, (north coast Ca) was very nice! No huge crowds like in Napa. Beautiful country, a little out of the way but well worth it. We went in March and stayed in Fort Bragg during the Whale Festival, where they have Beer Tasting, Chowder Tasting and all kinds of fun things to do & see.

Once in Anderson Valley we first stopped at Brutocao Cellars, then on to Navarro Vineyards where a deck overlooks the vineyards, a beautiful setting for lunch or a snack. Standish Wine Company was next, a new company with old history and great wines. Next stop was Husch Vineyards the tasting room is in a cute old building. Husch has a great collection of wines, I liked it so much I joined their wine club! Our last stop was Handley Cellars another beautiful vineyard with great tasting wines. All of the vineyards we stopped at had wonderful wines, I went home well stocked!

Fort Bragg is about 30 mins up the coast and has very reasonable accommodations. We were with a group and stayed at the Seabird Lodge. The Seabird Lodge is a very reasonable, “no frills”, place to stay.

One of my favorite places to stay is the Harbor Lite Lodge. Ask for a room on the river side, those rooms have balcony’s with views of the river & ocean. It is right on the Noyo River and you can walk down to the harbor where there are some really great restaurants.

Warning: Fort Bragg is a down-to-earth old fishing town, if you are looking for upscale, 5 star accommodations, meals and shopping,  go to Mendocino.   I happen to like Fort Bragg over Mendocino, but then again I am pretty down to earth.[ad#ad-2]

The Peppermill Casino & Resort in Reno Nv

It’s been a while since I posted.  I have been so busy.  My husband & I escaped to Reno for Christmas.  I thought it would be weird not being around friends & family for Christmas, but we had a GREAT time!.

The Peppermill is remodeling but it was not really noticeable to us.  We got there Christmas eve.  I was surprised how busy it was.  Christmas day everybody cleared out of the place, so by dinner time, there was no line to the Christmas buffet.  The food was great for a buffet!  I don’t usually go to buffets, but this one was really good and relaxing.  I usually do all the cooking for Christmas so this was a treat for me!

We stayed in a spa room.  It was wonderful and well worth the extra $$.  All the spa rooms also have a steam shower big enough for 2!  I love the steam shower….

We had such a great time I am seriously thinking of making this a Christmas tradition for us.  It was relaxing and fun during a very busy time of the year for me.

Attn: Men – Fondue is Sexy Food!

fondue

I say, “attn: Men”, only because I think a woman would be more impressed with a fondue meal than a man would (but, I could be wrong). Fondues are fun and easy and women love them! If you want to impress your girl with a special meal and a romantic evening, what better way than to feed her crusty bread or shrimp dipped in a warm buttery cheese sauce, served with a nice cold chardonnay or just have dessert and serve fruit & angel food cake dipped in warm melted chocolate.

Nothing spoils a romantic evening more than a huge meal that fills you up and makes you want to go to sleep. I think a light meal of fondue and maybe a salad is the perfect start to a wonderful romantic evening. Fondue is also fun! You have those long skinny forks which are perfect for feeding each other.

What’s Hot – What’s Not – Bras

Victorias Secret Bra

Sexy Bras are HOT! – This is a beautiful Victoria’s Secret Bra from the Angels Collection. Fancy embroidered styles and fun print fabrics are in this year.

Ill fitting Bras are NOT! – Most women are wearing the wrong size bra.  You can measure to get your proper size, but different bra manufacturers and different bra styles may fit differently.  I think it is best to go to your favorite lingerie department and try on a few bras until you find one that fits best.  The size of the bra that fits you best may surprise you or it may not, but at least you will have a general idea of what your size really is.

Below is a link to a bra fitting clinic to help determine if you are wearing the right size and to help you understand how a bra is supposed to fit.
